What your vet needs to know about your pet's official travel documents

Your pet’s microchip must be implanted or read before, or on the same date as, the rabies vaccination when the OV completes the travel documents.
The Animal Health Certificate reference number must appear on every page.
Every page of the Animal Health Certificate must be stamped by the OV/LVI.
All relevant sections of the EU Pet Passport must be completed and stamped by an EU Vet where required.
In the Rabies section, the vaccine details, vaccination dates, validity dates, and EU Vet’s stamp/signature must all be completed.
A GB/non-EU vet cannot complete the Rabies section of an EU-issued pet passport.
If a GB/non-EU vet appears to have completed the Rabies section, the passport will be invalid and travel will be refused.
The EU Vet must use their own stamp, signature, and details in the Rabies section.
If the rabies vaccination expires while your pet is in GB, you’ll need an Animal Health Certificate for travel and must visit an EU Vet to update the EU Pet Passport afterwards.
